I am sure your coping strategies are being pushed to the max this Easter holiday, as we prepare for the looming exam period! Just a reminder that bookings for the Exam Technique and Revision Workshops in English and Psychology will be closing very soon, with the first deadline being Saturday for the English Comprehension workshop on the 7th. There are currently two places left for the Writing workshop on the 8th, with several students considering attending, so do hurry if you want to take part. (Bookings for each workshop will close 3 days before the workshop, or before, if all places are taken.)
This is the time of year where young people (and older too, sometimes) tend to suffer in silence. Rather than reach out to the various sources available when in stress, we sometimes close ourselves off into our little ball and retreat, which inevitably feels very lonely.
Instead, if you are feeling stressed, be sure to tap into the various sources of help available to you: if you are studying for exams, consider study groups with your friends - this lightens the load of revision and is invaluable in giving you the confidence and support you need at this time. The idea is that you pool your strengths and weaknesses so as to help each other out. Works wonders!
Also, remember to make a list of questions that arise when you are revising and then go ahead and ask your teachers. They will be more than happy that you are being proactive and engaging in your studies and I am sure will set aside a time to help you.
Thirdly, make revision fun as well as productive. Try Youtube for videos on any topic you find difficult, as a video can really help to bring the topic alive for you.
Lastly, remember that I am here to support you throughout your studies - for my current students, as well as new people. Feel free to ask me questions or just cry out, "Help!" at any point!
Wishing you all the success you deserve!
